The Damned World

Fairytale never exists..

Synopsis from GV website

"Souichi Negishi (Kenichi Matsuyama) is a conservative and pure-minded boy. He leaves his countryside home to go to Tokyo with a dream of becoming a fancy pop singer. In a twist of fate, he is forced to debut as a member of the satanic Death Metal band "Detroit Metal City" (DMC), whose trademark is an eccentric make-up and destructive performance. Despite the intention of becoming a pop celebrity, he makes a triumphant debut as the Death Metal vocalist and the story hilariously describes the array of his woes until he finally faces off against the legendary and world-renowned Death Metal vocalist "Jack IL Dark" on the stage!"

At first i thought this was just some crap movie. The kind that forces you to laugh to stupid, senseless humor. After more thorough introduction by my friends then i decided to catch it. This lead actor is actually the same guy who acted as "L" in "Death Note" and "L changes the world".

In this movie, and like any other movie, there were parts where the pace is slower and tends to be more boring. However the entertainment was always constantly delivered in this one. As a result, it was literally impossible to feel bored.

Many emotions were delivered in this movie. There were motivation, excellent humor, stupidity, irritation, disgust, excitment and determination.

I do also find the lead actress to have a resemblance to Taiwanese celebrity Vivian Hsu.

It is definitely worth your money to catch it. However because it is a Japanese film, I am sure you have got to read the subtitles. In the process of reading it, you may miss a few pictures that entertains you. Therefore try to read fast if you can.

Overall, it is worth 7.5 out of 10. To make it worth better, catch it during the weekdays.
