The Damned World

Fairytale never exists..

Today my family broke the news that they are planning to move to a new apartment by this year and asked for our opinions.

The main aim is to lighten the family expenses and we are actually planning for a downgrade to get some money to pay off the mortgage. The disappointing fact though is that they are still thinking to stick to the jurong area only but move to an older apartment. The reason is that jurong apartments are cheaper. We did thought of moving slightly away from west though but everything isn't finalize until we actually start hunting. And if the there are good deals up there, why not right.

For me I don't mind moving at all. The first thing that came to my mind about this current house was this

This is the view from my window of my room. Quite sad to watch your neighbour so closely and them watching back at you right? You don't need a binoculars here to tell what they are doing. Sometimes I even know what an argument across was about and which unit was having an overnight majong game. Also with that block so close to mine, the ventilation of my house is not really good.

The thing that I am concern of is the mailing problem. Probably got many updating to do like school, banks, employer and other mailing lists you are on. I am confident that I am going to miss some. But till then we will think of something.

Of course it is not all that bad here. For instance the neighbours are rather peaceful, there weren't conflicts or anything. IMM is also a 10 minutes walk away and there is a coffee shop and minimart just downstairs. The main road is not that close to me that you could hear all the damn motorbikes screeching by.

Another hassle would be the re-training of my dog. He had not move to a new environment since he moved in to my family from the farm approximately 7 to 8 years ago. The most important thing is probably train him again to settle his call of nature at the right spot and the restricted zones.

Perhaps I am just looking forward for the novelty of moving to a new house. A fresh overview. A newly renovated apartment, new furnitures, new view out my window, etc.

Anyway I am just counting the eggs now before they are hatched. When the time comes probably we shall discuss this again. Haha. Thank you all for visiting :-)

I know many wise guy out there said that time is money and time is precious all that bullshit. But once in a while, you might thought of taking a break from your routine and occupy yourself with something else just for a while and not too long.

Clicknetwork.tv is actually a bo liao channel for you to watch just when you would not like to use your brain at all and daze your time away. This is a good alternative after you finished poking your nose into the businesses of your friends on face book.

There are videos of the presenters doing stupid and lame challenges or the famous blogger, xiaxue, talking cock most of the time. Some of them were rather entertaining. Kay kay is kinda pretty too. Sort of.

So the next time when your boss is on leave and there no one to care about you, you might want to add this to that slacking list of yours.

This was not the usual monsoon that we sometimes experienced. It happened in 15th March, late afternoon at Jurong East and caused some inconvenience to the people around my area. I am not sure how it was at other places. I was stuck in my bus for a long time thanks to fallen trees all over the road.

Here are some footage:

Tree fallen in front of my bus..

Tree fallen behind my bus..

Look at the jams behind..

After realizing that I could be a sitting duck for a long time, i decided to walk home. On the way back, there were more incidents..

A tree had uprooted and fell on the shelter. Luckily the shelter had been over engineered and was able to sustain the weight of that tree.

And then the coffee shop at the bus depot was flooded..

The construction barrier was also blown down..

When i started walking home, the rain and wind had subsided. I reached home 60% wet because when i was waiting for the bus at the bus depot, before i started taking any of these picture, the wind had brought the rain into the bus depot despite the shelter and roof.

Many people were drenched. Even some had tried to shield themselves with umbrellas, they couldn't hide from the rain coming from another direction.

It was quite an experience. The lucky thing was that I was going home. If I were going out, I guess I would have to cancel my trip. Thank god there also weren't any casualties from this unusual monsoon.

Synopsis from GV webby:
Based on the popular Japanese manga created by Akira Toriyama, whose work spawned best selling graphic novels, video games and a phenomenally successful television series, Dragonball centers on the heroic Goku, a powerful warrior who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the Universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name.

This film, in my opinion, just stole the idea of the famous legendary comic book to make money. The movie was only 86 minutes long. Judging from the running time, you can tell that it will not turn out fantastic. If it weren't for the Dragonball fan that my buddy was, I would just watch the trailer of this movie.

Everything thing rushes in and out of the movie so quickly that I just felt irritated by it. I would consider it a low budget film. Or maybe they just spent the production fees on hair wax and push up bras for the ladies. Yes Push-Up bras. The movie definitely satisfied you with "half moons" and was never short of it.

However that did not make up for the film. Besides the hasty pace of the movie, most of the things were computer backdrops and graphics, that kinda saved some money on props. The story was nothing close to the original manga. It merely borrowed it's title, characters (that doesn't looked alike), skills and that is about it.

It would be an absolute waste of time and money going to the cinema to watch this movie. It was film for the sole purpose of making money. No movie passion, no fame, no aim for any movie awards.

I would not even recommend anyone to buy the DVD either. Unless you are expecting a lot of guest and you wouldn't be able to entertain all of them but you want something to keep them company. Presuming that your house has nothing else for them to do and they won't chat among themselves. If you just want to watch it because the title was the "wow Dragonball" then wait for the streaming video websites to host them.

I would rate this a 3 out of 10. For god sake don't watch it.

Synopsis from GV website

"Souichi Negishi (Kenichi Matsuyama) is a conservative and pure-minded boy. He leaves his countryside home to go to Tokyo with a dream of becoming a fancy pop singer. In a twist of fate, he is forced to debut as a member of the satanic Death Metal band "Detroit Metal City" (DMC), whose trademark is an eccentric make-up and destructive performance. Despite the intention of becoming a pop celebrity, he makes a triumphant debut as the Death Metal vocalist and the story hilariously describes the array of his woes until he finally faces off against the legendary and world-renowned Death Metal vocalist "Jack IL Dark" on the stage!"

At first i thought this was just some crap movie. The kind that forces you to laugh to stupid, senseless humor. After more thorough introduction by my friends then i decided to catch it. This lead actor is actually the same guy who acted as "L" in "Death Note" and "L changes the world".

In this movie, and like any other movie, there were parts where the pace is slower and tends to be more boring. However the entertainment was always constantly delivered in this one. As a result, it was literally impossible to feel bored.

Many emotions were delivered in this movie. There were motivation, excellent humor, stupidity, irritation, disgust, excitment and determination.

I do also find the lead actress to have a resemblance to Taiwanese celebrity Vivian Hsu.

It is definitely worth your money to catch it. However because it is a Japanese film, I am sure you have got to read the subtitles. In the process of reading it, you may miss a few pictures that entertains you. Therefore try to read fast if you can.

Overall, it is worth 7.5 out of 10. To make it worth better, catch it during the weekdays.

Changes are regular supplements to our lives. Everyone changes. Things changes. Some of us love to make changes. Some businesses have to change to survive. Some people believe changes in feng shui will help them survive. Unwanted changes require other changes to compromise. Some changes are inevitably forced. Changes are perpetual and unavoidable. Of everything changing, habits are of the most difficult to change.

Not long ago I tried changing the direction of my bed but it was hard to get use to it. It wasn't suitable too as noises outside my room could reach me more easily. So I switched back.

I changed my phone too and recalled that it was my old habit that I got rid for the sake of a commitment but it was no longer valid anymore.

Ever since, I realized that when we are so committed to certain things, we tend to be unaware of the other things that are happening around us. I had spent a lot my attention, care, concerns, efforts and life on the things that had now turned into dust. Looking back, there were things that I should have take note of and maybe learn from it.

One of the important ones that I had missed out is that when you want to do something, you have always got to remain focus to it all the time until it is accomplished. Although this contradicts to my failed relationship, for things that do not have the mind of their own, this theory should hold.

My friends showed me that to achieve the things they want, they sacrificed their life for it, which I have not been able to do. While people are out having parties, networking, having fun, good food, splurging, and indulging, they secluded themselves in their dungeons and kept working towards their achievements.

I hadn't realize that I had been wasting my life away until my relationship failed. I took some time to recover myself and by then it was already too late. Starting any sooner in revising for my exams now would still be considered a rush job and will never result in flying colors.

I promised myself; Let this be my FINAL negligence, thoughtless and naive downfall.
I got to change.

There is also another thing that I would like myself to change.
There were many unwanted and despising but true facts that you vividly aware of but you chose to ignore it and live with it. I think sometimes even the slightest thought that came to my mind and how negative it may be, I should still think about it rather than ignoring it and chuck it aside. When the issue manifested and went out of hand, I regret it. Why not try to avoid it and prevent it when I am aware of it?

Judging things can help avoid problems.

My life changed unwillingly but I guessed this was inevitable and I should get used to it. Whatever it is, always take it as a challenge and face it bravely like a man right?

I guessed now that the commitment had been paralyzed and i have no excuses to blame on distractions, the next change I needed is to focus hard on all my targets and the steps I have to do to attain it.

This is posted on April 26 2009 but dated otherwise where it all happened..

It has been quite cooling lately thanks to the higher occurrence of rain. I find it easier to get into sleep than humid and stuffy days whereby you would sweat as if you were at a sauna while in your bed.

Recently my classmates were all in the middle of a mugging marathon. At the moment was the preliminary examinations then soon the finals in May.

One of my friend said he had been doing revision at home and at some library. So I decided to ask him, who stays rather close to me, to study together. It was then I realized the genius kept finding lame excuses to turn me down. I wondered if he was genuinely putting effort in revising.

The genius could be found on msn almost the entire day no matter when I log in. When spoken to, he would reply rather promptly. That tells me that he had buried his head in books. Yeah right.

When the results was releasing last finals, he was all confident except a little on one module. I was the other way round. The results were announced and he failed every thing. 5 modules. His girl friend left him at that same time. Since then despite his repetitive pursues and showering of expensive gifts, he have been single.

This guy also mentioned a lot of his mother. Uncommonly lot more for a 25 year old. Oh god..

Sadly there seemed to be no changes. I do hope one of these days he would learn that people does notice his foibles and he should seriously get rid of them.

Nice day. A Saturday that fell on the last day of the month. Many wallets out there probably just got a double boost. Yeah I am taking about your pay check and the little bonus from the GST package. As a result there were pretty long queues at the cash withdrawal machine.

Unfortunately though, it was raining. Nevertheless that really did not dampen people from enjoying themselves. The movie Marley & Me were practically full house for all the theaters at town. In the net, the reviews were positive as well. So committed in a bond with a Jack-Russel in my house, I wanted to catch this dog show as well.

Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston were the main cast of the movie. The first 3/4 of the show was hilarious and showed the various problems they had with the dog. Though it seemed exaggerating to some people, it was very closely depicted in my experience with my dog. Having a dog is something like this. I could really relate. The story started with the couple's life after marriage and the stages that they been through towards parenthood. Marley came before the children and was very closely revolving in the entire story. He played a substantial figure in the family. Towards the end of the story would be the heart warming and sorrowing part as Marley would have to leave them.

Some of the audience discreetly broke out tears as the movie was coming to an end. However i hoped the movie wouldn't create too much impulsion on people in getting a dog without heavy consideration of the commitment they would have to take.

Apart from the movie, Nokia was having many roadshows presenting their newly launched and first ever touch screen phone, the 5800 xpress music. Quite impressive however familiarising with the fresh user interface would be another issue.

Hope you had a splendid weekend as well. Cheers
