The Damned World

Fairytale never exists..

As Christmas and New Year is arriving, there is a short break from my school for about 2 weeks(Yeah...). On Friday 19 Dec 2008, I was lucky to receive free tickets to Fahrenheit Concert. So I went for it.

The security was stern. You couldn’t bring any form of food and beverage into the Singapore Indoor Stadium. My bottle of mineral water had to be left outside (Drat...). I was only able to get a packet of Fisherman’s Friend through.

The seating area around the extended pathway from the stage for the performers was surrounded by the most supportive and hardcore fans.

They had brought with them boards with the LEDs lights forming the Chinese word of the particular celebrity they wanted to support. They don’t look like handmade. I think they must have spent some money in making them.

There were also fans from other countries like Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand, all in small groups.

The moment they showed signs of appearance by the performers(above 2 pictures), the loyal (and crazy) fans roared away as if their heads were going to explode.

The area I was sitting wasn’t so bad. There is a clear view, probably 3rd class seats (pic below is from my seat without zoom). Not very near but at least i didn't have to pay for my seat and i am not there fans so this peaceful spot suits me perfectly.

It seemed to me that some the people weren’t very interested in the shows. In fact in between the concert’s progress there were people going from empty seat to seat collecting the souvenirs sponsored by Singtel (the ugly people of the damned world.) Most of them were women (This was a fact ok...).

The performance was about 2 hours or so. But the experience wasn't that pleasant. Firstly, I am not very fond of this band. Next, the indoor stadium's seats is only good for the first hour (after that, i recommend the Shaolin horse stance...).

The last 2 pictures were the aftermath of the concert. The blurry effect wasn't the camera's fault. It was smoke thanks to the fire effects and dry ice that kind of nonsense during the performance.

Next week I am going to a classical music concert instead. Hopefully I get more comfortable chairs ;)
